The end of summer is indeed bittersweet, and no place more so than here on Nantucket. Being the author of nine (soon to be ten) summer
novels and a real summer person, I find the ending of summer positively
excruciating! Here are some of the ways I like to celebrate the final
days…
10. Hit the farm market. I buy corn on
the cob from Bartlett Farm here on Nantucket every night that we’re home
for dinner, and I always get a few extra ears, cut t

My sister Jen and I opened a cupcake shop in Fairfax, Virginia in March of 2008 (Cupcakes Actually;

I would love to get in touch with Elin and invite her to be the guest of honor at an "Eat Cupcakes and Read Event that Cupcakes Actually will sponsor in the near future. I don't know if Elin does any Book Tours, but we would love for her to consider putting us on her tour if…

Hi, this is Elin, writing from beautiful, sunny Nantucket. I am about to pack a lunch, hop on my bike, and ride to Steps beach where I will write until 4pm today (then I have to get my son to Little League practice.) I am currently working on my novel for next summer, which is called Silver Girl. I am looking forward to next week, Tuesday, when my novel The Island pubs. I am currently reading "The Anthropolgy of an American Girl," which is good...but long. (600 pages) I said to my husband las

I work part time as a bookseller so I get the opportunity to read a wide variety of books. I took this job as a part time second job and thoroughly enjoy it. I look forward to seeing all of the new books come out every week and make my lists of which ones that I want to read. Currently, I have been off both of my jobs for the past 2 weeks due to having surgery so I have been able to catch up on my reading list. One of the books that I had been wanting to read is "The Castaways." I have read "A S…

I am absolutely a fanatic of the book entitled Southern Vampire Mysteries series of novels by Charlaine Harris, that later bacame an American tv drama series entitled True Blood. I have read the whole novel series but still I wanna see it on tv. I always watch it on the premium cable network HBO. If I missed out one episode, I'm gonna watch it on youtube cos I want to be always updated to Sookie and Bill's extraordinary love. The book is much detailed than the tv series but the tought is still t…

Hi Elin,
I received a phone call today from a friend who's mother is reading your book, "The Castaways". She called this morning to tell me that as she was reading, page 297, I believe, that she came across your mention of a 'silver dress by Anjali Kumar'. That's me! And what a nice surprise!
I have received a lot of press, TV shows, magazines, but this was a special treat, to be noted in one of your best selling books, so thank you!
I do sell to a few stores out on Nantucket so that's probably…

I am sorry I have not been around for a bit but I had a family emergency/death and my last 3 months I have been hanging on by a thread time. But I am getting back into life now and hope to be more active each and every day. My retirement from 37 years of teaching so far is foreign as I have only had about 3 days of it but am enjoying what I have seen and done so far. I am blogging and reading and writing more than ever...and loving every minute. THE CASTAWAYS was wonderful and a huge successful…

Hello!
I just finished A Summer Affair and also recently read Barefoot. I went to Borders today and purchased The Castaways and Nantucket Nights. Any suggestions as to which one I should read next?
Thanks for your input!

I just finished reading The Beach Club and felt like I had a lot of unanswered questions. Is there another book that Elin wrote after this to go along with it? Or are we just supposed to decide how it ends:)?? I would love any ideas, thanks!
